Reducing impacts

The challenge of climate change needs bold leadership but ultimately it is action that counts.

Working with our retail partners, we’re focusing on areas that include minimising waste, reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, reducing packaging and facilitating consumer choice and ethical trading.

And it’s delivering real, quantifiable results. For example, ours aim is to recover or recycle everything that can be recovered or recycled. Our Group recycling rate now stands at 83%; that is up from 63% in 2006 (and 53% in 2002).
